The Presque Isle State Park known as a sandy peninsula covering 3,200 acres that curves to Lake Erie. This is known as the only “seashore” of Pennsylvania. It’s a natural landmark. This island is a favorite visited spot of migrating birds. Presque isle holds a huge number of endangered and rare species of the state.

Tom Ridge Environmental Center or TREC is an educational center found in Presque Isle. Its dedicated to teach visitors about this wonderful island and all the wonderful forms of living inhabitants in this peninsula. There’s free admission here with the interactive exhibit and the very tall observation tower that stands about seventy five feet tall.

Presque isle can be reached by Pennsylvania Route 832 or you can travel by boat. The loop road within this park reaches 13 miles.

About 4 million visitors come and visit Presque Isle each year. Presque Isle offers various recreational activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, bicycling, and so much more! Presque Isle has a lot to offer may it be with its sandy beaches or with its history or by luring students to study ecological diversity.

If you are interested to study about the environment, Presque Isle offers a Presque Isle Curriculum. This curriculum offers everyone who wishes to study the opportunity to take on themselves in the park’s resources. This program also meets the Standards of the Pennsylvania Academic Standards that is set by the department of education for environment & ecology, science & technology.
